Specimen Requirements

Sample Requirements: One 3.5 mL blue top (3.2% sodium citrate) tube. (Min. 1 mL platelet poor plasma).
Storage & Shipping: Separate plasma within one hour of collection and freeze at -20℃ or less; ship on dry ice.

Description

Plasma is incubated 1:1 with Normal Pool for 30 minutes at 37℃, to detect the presence/absence of an inhibitor.  Incubated mixes are performed to increase inhibitor detection.  Recommend ordering APTT with APTT Mix.  NOTE: For meaningful interpretation, this test should not be ordered without also ordering the APTT.
