Methodology

Electrochemiluminescence Immunoassay (ELCIA)
Useful for patients who are not, or not suspected to be, taking exogenous glucocorticoids. This test is recommended for routine testing.

Specimen Requirements

1 plasma gel tube (1 mL of lithium heparin plasma). Centrifuge blood as soon as possible and send specimen refrigerated, or send unspun blood to laboratory within 4 hours of draw.
Note:  Specimen drawn at 8 a.m. is preferred.

7.0-25.0 µg/dL
