Specimen Requirements
- Serum.
- Plasma Li-heparin K2-EDTA plasma.
- Urine: Collect urine without using additives. If urine must be collected with a preservative for other analytes, only hydrochloric acid or boric acid may be used.
• Fluid samples: Fluid samples (upon request) will be run for creatinine. (Test code:
CREAFL.) No Reference ranges will be provided. Specimens that have a high
visual viscosity or contain fibrin clots will NOT be analyzed on the Cobas. Credit
the in-house code and send to Mayo (if the testing is available).
