Microscopy
Includes preparation, staining, and microscopic examination of smear including quantitation of relevant cells, bacteria, and fungi.

St. Clair Hospital Laboratory

1. Collect specimen in a screw-capped, sterile container or by using 1 aerobic bacterial transport swab.

2. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
Note: 1. Prepared, unfixed smears may also be sent.

2. Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
