Specimen Requirements

1 plain, red-top tube (1 mL of serum). Centrifuge blood as soon as possible and send specimen refrigerated, or send unspun blood to laboratory within 4 hours of draw.
Note:  1. The following specimens will not be tested:
A. Heat-treated specimen
B. Specimen containing precipitate
2. Draw date and notification of whether or not the patient has received hepatitis b vaccine are required on request form for processing.
