Monoclonal Antibody Sandwich Assay
This test screens for human chorionic gonadotropin and is useful for diagnosing pregnancy.

Specimen Requirements
Submit a first-morning, random urine specimen in a urine specimen cup supplied. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated.
Note: Follow instructions in “Urine Collection” in “Special Instructions.”
Reference Values
Negative (reported as positive or negative)
Note: Positive qualitative assays should be
followed up by a #BHCG “Chorionic Gonadotropin, Beta-Subunit
(Quantitative), Serum” level for the diagnosis of
ectopic pregnancy, for monitoring the viability of a pregnancy, or
for use as a tumor marker.
