Conventional Culture
Useful for isolation and identification of methicillin-resistant
Staphylococcus aureus. Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus
can also be isolated and identified, if requested.
Note: For hospital patients only.

Specimen Requirements
1. One aerobic bacterial transport swab collected from
non-nasal site in question.
2. Return aerobic swab to plastic sleeve.
3. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient
temperature.
Note: Specimen source is required on request
form for processing.
