Enzyme-Linked Fluorescent Immunoassay (ELFA)
The presumptive detection of total antibodies (IgG/IgM) to Borrelia burgdorferi (the causative agent of Lyme’s disease).

Specimen Requirements
1 plain, red-top tube (1 mL of serum). Centrifuge blood as soon as possible and send specimen refrigerated, or send unspun blood to laboratory within 4 hours of draw.
Reference Values
No detectable antibodies to Borrelia burgdorferi. Specimens testing positive by this methodology will be sent for Immunoblot confirmation before results are reported.
