Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: 1 yellow ACD tube preferred or 1 EDTA or Citrate also acceptable.

Drawn at Hospital:

1. Draw 1 ACD tube
2. Specimen to remain whole blood at room temperature
3. Deliver directly to Send Out Department

Drawn at Offsite location:

1. Draw 1 ACD tube
2. Specimen to remain whole blood at room temperature throughout

transport to hospital

Special Test Instructions: ACD tube is stable for 72 hours; EDTA or Citrate stable

                                             for 48 hours.
