Specimen Requirements
1 red top no gel preferred; 1 lavender-top (EDTA) tube (1 mL of plasma) can be used but not preferred, from a fasting patient. Centrifuge blood as soon as possible, or send unspun blood to laboratory within 1 hour of draw.
