Methodology

This test is useful for determination of ABO/Rh type and detection of atypical antibodies.

Specimen Requirements

Draw a full, pink-top (K2 EDTA) tube. Forward promptly at ambient temperature.

Note:  1. Specify number of units required on request form.
2. Label specimen with patient’s name (first and last), medical record number or date of birth, and date and time of draw.
3. Initials of person drawing blood must be on tube.

Reference Values

If the antibody screen is positive, further testing will be done to identify the antibody.
